I chose to wear my favourite silky maxi dress.
The interior design looks just like an oriental palace. Lots and lots of gold and red everywhere. This big Chinese dragon greets you as soon as you walk in.
Us girls sipped cocktails and the boys lager until our table was ready. We ordered some sake' with our food. It's a strange drink when I think about it, kind of a mild whiskey flavour served lukewarm. But it's served in a steamy bucket and poured in to adorable little china cups.
The starter platter.
Crispy duck pancakes.
Mixed vegetables and cashew nuts.
Sweet and sour pork.
Black bean beef (this comes out sizzling and hissing! It's very impressive)
Deep fried sweet and sour prawns (personal favourite).
Chicken and cashew nuts.
We all used chopsticks.
Look at that concentration.
The dishes of food are all placed on metal heating plates with candles in, which looks very pretty. They spin round, which adds to the theatre of your already spectacular meal. It also makes it easier for you to reach the tasty nibbles on the other side of the table!
The atmosphere is amazing, there's a constant hub-bub about the place and the waiting staff are very smart and very polite. I don't think you can get a table unless you book well in advance, particularly on weekends.
